Well - we received the test results from Ellie's repeat Thyroid and it was normal. So we are back to the doc not having an answer for her constipation and failure to thrive. They don't want to even see her for another 6-8 months!

I am not going to wait that long. She is going GF. She is DQ2 and DQ8 and with her symptoms and our family history - I have no doubt it is CD presenting itself in the early stages. The doc even thinks this way, but he feels constrained by the medical community in regards to making an official dx. Well - I don't need that in order to change my child's diet!

Sorry you didn't get the answers you were looking for, but I'm so glad to hear you're changing your daughter's diet! I too believe you'll have remarkable results! :)

Hi Lisa,

I'm very sorry to hear about that.

However, I'm glad you're changing her diet anyway.

I see she's got a fast heartbeat. That makes me want to suggest that you do a complete elimination diet for her to remove everything that's affecting her negatively.

With ds, we had to remove all trace gluten, corn, oats, nightshade and the entire lily family as well as refined sugar. There may have been more but I can't remember now. His diet has expanded a great deal since then as his gut has healed over the years. His system still runs pretty high but not as high as it used to. It's easy to tell because he hardly ever catches 'colds' anymore.

Thanks for the update, and we will all be anxious to hear of any progress. Wouldn't it be amazing if she started to gain weight :) ?

It is nice to get a definite answer with tests but when that does not happen, I agree it makes all the sense in the world to give the GF life a trial. I agree fully with your decision. I hope everyong in the family is in agreement - makes life easier.

Keep us updated on your DD's progress.
