GTG's in general

I went to my first GTG (in Phoenix). The food was good and the company was better.

MS can be a disease of isolation, it is difficult for me to get up the motivation to get out.

Even though I was familiar with the names and had an idea of who they are, meeting a person face to face is different. It is giving a person the full dimensions of body and personality.

No doubt, it was out of my comfort zone.

But it was nice. If there is a GTG in your area, I recommend taking the chance to meet the MS Neurotalk people.

Although I HATED "Forest Gump," there was a good line spoken by Tom Hanks and seems to apply to the experience. I can only paraphrase it. "Life is like a box of candy. You never know what you are going to get."

I hope everyone takes the opportunity to meet in one city or another.

I agree wholeheartedly, Cyn! It is so much fun to meet board buds in person. :grouphug:

Cyn, so glad you enjoyed the GTG! Me too!

Happy you came, even though you felt it was outside your "comfort zone." I never would have guessed you felt that way, as you were so chatty on the phone the day before! Also, you seemed so relaxed in person.

I've been to several GTGs, the one last Dec. in Worcester, MA being the largest. I thoroughly love love love to meet my board buddies. Even if they weren't necessarily a "buddy", I feel like they are after I meet them face to face.

That's what MS has given me: a chance to meet and care about truly wonderful people! Hugs to all! :circlelove:

What??? You HATED Forrest Forrest Gump? Not sure we can still be friends.

I agree, so much fun to put face and voice to the friendships here.

I've been to several here in Michigan and hope to make an out of state one in the future.

I have to agree. GTGs are just so much fun!

I've been to a few in Oz with people I've met on line, and some of those people are the most wonderful I've had the pleasure to meet.

I've made several life long friends this way, plus.....there are a small number of other other MSers in that category as well who I've not yet had the pleasure of meeting in person.....on the phone maybe, but not face to face.

DH and I have stayed twice at the home of one MSer I met on line before we even met at a GTG. Another 'on-line" friend spent a long weekend with DH and I as our first meeting in person.

I just l-o-v-e get togethers, and live in hope of one day meeting some of the members from NT.

Here's a pic of one of our GTG's. DH (he's the one with the beard) and I are standing at the back on the right.

I've been to one here in VB. Had such a lovely time. Tried to make on in SF when I was out there on business, but totally screwed it up. Didn't matter, Av8rgirl showed up and hung out with me and ate cookies in the lobby of my hotel till I showed up. I'm afraid there won't be too many GTGs in Italy...:( Unless, that is, my friends decide to come and visit.....hint, hint!:D

I wasnt able to make the MAss one. I have been having horrible vision issues, and after dark, I am just blind. It happened at a time I was in a full blown skid, and while I truly wanted to go, it wasnt worth the weeks of recovery I would have been faced with.

You know I love everyone of you though. :grouphug:
