Breathing
 

Hi Folks,
Seems like most of the birds have come here to roost and hope everyone is doing well. I don't post much as there is so much to read and remember. Anyway getting to the point does anybody suddenly experience the body forgetting to breath. All of a sudden you gasp and realize you need some air.:D I have been on Lyrica for a good while now and 2 months ago started taking Tramadol and it started shortly after taking it. I have to see the Doc next week and like to know if there is a substitute for it. Tramadol works real well with Lyrica in pain management. Thanks

Lanny42 - I am on the same combination of medication and I have not had that experience. You are right about the pain management with the two. I have had great success since starting Lyrica this past Spring. Tramadol is the only pain medication I have been on since being diagnosed (going on 5 years now). Dr. says it is the best for nerve pain. It works best for me especially when the toes start burning.

Yes I have experienced the same exact thing, and posted about it on the old forum. It's like sleep apnea but during the waking hours. I was quite distressed about it for a while. But just as mysteriously as it appeared it also went away. I think it lasted a month and a half in total. I think it was phychological in nature.

I just kept reminding myself to breath, and it finally went away.

Tramadol was the best med i come across for PN, after trying Neurotin, oxycontin, and a few other mind busters as well, i was lucky in that i had no bad side affects, only a leg jerk every now and again, but of course we are differant in our reactions to differant meds, just seems a shame that you are happy with that combination of meds and this side affect is troubling you, i hope your doc can work out something to give you the same relief.
