DIY physical therapy

Wanted to pass on something that I happened on a couple of days ago and realized it might make a good thread if some of us had similar tips.

Here' s mine- I had somehow ended up with a cloth pad about six inches square and loosely filled with "beans". In combatting some late night freezing I happened to drop it onto the linoleum and clumsily started pushing it with my toe. It was great! The focus onto the action blocks the surrounding "chatter", the shifting from foot to foot breaks me loose from the floor, and pushing it instead of kicking it requires control. Concentration is intense and I can almost feel neurons growing!

42nd Street

Sometimes in the morning, when I can hardly move, I put on the music to the old Broadway show "42nd Street" - the big tap dance numbers - and pretty soon I'm shuffle kicking (that's tap dance 101) across my room - it "taps" into some part of my brain that still works, kind of! Music is great.
