The lion is eating the cub

Hi! My name is Mary and I was just dx with this horrible syndrome on Feb. 24. I remember it as the day I finally knew I wasn't crazy!!!, but the day that I didn't know what I was in for.

I was hurt at work and as soon as they heard the word Causalgia they went nuts. They hurried and sent me to another doctor in another city to say I don't have it, so now I have to suffer while my attorney fights with them. This is the worse pain I have ever had and I don't know what I'm going to do. I know from reading your stories alot of you have been suffering for years. How do you handle it? I need help dealing with this! I'm just a cub and the lion is roaring with this pain!

Thanks for listening!!:)

Mary

Hello and Welcome to Neurotalk Mary - it's great to see you here and you will meet many great people who im sure will be more than happy to help you if they possibly can!!!

I'm so sorry to hear that you are in so much pain and that you currently dont know what is wrong with you:hug:!! I really hope that you can get a diagnosis real soon and get to feeling better!! IF it is RSD (also known as Causalgia) it is really important that you try and get diagnosed and treated as quickly as possible to have the best chance of reaching remission. Please dont give up hope and try and find a doctor that wants to help you - I know it is hard sometimes but it is worth it when you find someone that actually believes you!!

I suffer from RSD. It currently affects my left leg and both arms. I developed it when I was 12 years old after I fell and sprained my ankle and am now 14. I have tried all sorts of medications and procedures to try and put it into remission but none have really helped me so far. The only med that helps me is Ketamine but my doctor doesn't like me taking it as he feels it could affect my hormones because of my age etc. We are now seeking further options as a last resort to try and help.

If you need anything, please dont hesitate to ask!! I am more than happy to help you if I can because I DO understand some of what you are going through and understand how frustrating and scary it is when you dont have a diagnosis.

Please check out the RSD forum as hopefully you will find some help there!! Everyone is really nice and friendly so im sure you'll fit straight in!!

Take care,
Alison

:)

...one hour at a time, as the next hour in the day I wasn't able to cop for a while. I would have to lay down for a while (45 degree angle), even out on the road. as the day went on, the time outs got longer. It's okay. you will get through it. I was upright for a couple of hours then down again... lots of praying; lots of cussing too.

Workers comp adds to your stress. It is hard to get a FAIR award, so you'll have to get tough to get what you can. Get  then polish that emotion till it shines. You have to fight for it. They for sure are NOT going to give you anything. In the end, you will prevail. You have to believe that. You just have to jump through a lot of hoops. Keep good notes and keep up with your records if you're able.

I work in the legal field. The defense really know their job. They work hard too. You don't have to like it. It's okay. try not to take it personal.

You're not alone here. don't hestitate to ask us anything. We're here for you. :grouphug:
