Elephant Stew

1 elephant (medium size)
2 rabbits (optional)
salt & pepper to taste
brown gravy (lots)

Cut elephant into bite size pieces. This will take about
2 months. Add enough gravy to cover. Cook over
kerosene fire for about 4 weeks at 465 degrees.

This will serve 3800 people. If more are expected, the
2 rabbits may be added. Do this only if necessary as most
people do not like to find hare in their stew. :o :D

I love that recipe! I was in a second-hand store years ago and happened upon an apron with the recipe printed on it in German. Of course I had to buy it. For some reason it makes me think of Monty Python.

DH just read this recipe over my shoulder and he cracked up. He has a casserole on to slow cook for dinner tonight so naturally had to ask should he buy a rabbit to go in it!
