Strange dreams

I keep having dreams about my past job where I was mistreated. The dreams are dreams of me being mistreated again, and again. Tormenting!!! I worked at that place for around 15 years. One of our very young workers had a psychotic break, and ended up in the hospital. He didn't have the break on the job, but he was at his home when that happened. We all were intimidated.

Year after year I have these dreams. It's like I can't figure out what happened, and my mind is trying to figure out why a manager treated me the way he did. I did all that I could do, and more. I was very busy at all times while I was on the clock.

I can't figure out why the place was such a nightmare. So many people were trouble makers. The assistant manager said he was going to miss me because he could really get to me. This was at a party for me after I resigned. He had been drinking. The owners of the business were very mean, and angry.

Some people said that they would let these troubles with bosses roll over their shoulders. They would let it go in one ear, and out the other. I couldn't do this. I was working desperately to help the business, and when I got mistreated, I didn't understand.

I stayed there for years because I didn't want to disappoint my dad. BF :hug::hug::grouphug:

So sorry. That sounds awful -- like a version of PTSD.

When Bad Memories Wont Go Away

That's what my nurse practitioner said. She said it's a PTSD variant. I left that job in the beginning of 2005. The dreams keep coming. I may not recover from such a long time of work place harassment. I did more than my job there, and left in peace. I moved to a different part of the state to where my sister lived. She passed away about two years ago. I'm basically by myself. I see my nieces, and brother in law on holidays. I may see them this weekend.

They don't understand what's going on with my mental health issues. Neither do I. I hope that there is a future, and hope for me. BF:hug::hug::hug:

I am so sorry that you relive these memories.
How awful for you.
What does your nurse practitioner say about getting rid of the dreams? any suggestions?
(((((HUGS)))))
I just don't understand why you put up with that for so long.:(

Nightmares and PTSD - PTSD: National Center for PTSD

Can you request a therapist who has training/experience with
PTSD patients?

Is Easter coming up this weekend?
I wish you and your family a HAPPY EASTER.

She is medicating me, and seeing me. She is working in coordination with my councilor, and case manager.

No councilors, or doctors have ever been able to effectively treat my mental health issues.

All of the dreams are different. They are different from what happened in the past, but involve various different situations that hurt me in my sleep. None of the dreams are the same. They don't happen every night, but I have them often.

I did put up with it for a long time. There was some good, but allot of bad. BF:hug::hug::hug:

I had another dream about that place. It was a different type of dream like all of them. BF:hug::hug::hug:

Thank you Mari. That store has been out of business for awhile. I left it in 2005, and am still dreaming about it.

I don't recommend anyone to keep working at a business where they hurt you every day. With me it went down deep. It seems to be embedded deep down in my subconscious. There were five people who could hurt you at any time, and get away with it. BF:hug::hug::hug:
