Has your Senator/Congressman Signed the MS Caucus?

http://www.msactivist.blogspot.com/

Check to see if your Senator or Congressman has signed on to support the New MS Caucus.

During the week of May 6-9, we spent time with each and every Senator and Congressman asking them to co-sponsor the Congressional MS Caucus.

This Caucus will
  • Actively engage in discussions about access to quality health care,increased MS research, disability rights, and other MS issues;
  • Seek creative solutions to the challenges facing people with MS, and;
  • Raise awareness and promote education about MS in our efforts to move closer to a world free of this disease.
The MS Caucus was Co-chaired by Congressmen Russ Carnahan (MO) and Michael Burgess, M.D. (TX and Senators Byron Dorgan (ND) and Orrin Hatch (UT).

Write a letter to your Legislator if they are not on this list.

If anyone is from Idaho, take note that Congressman Bill Sali has two sisters with MS and he has yet to sign on or take note of ANY legislation for MS. He is up for re-election this year.

If you belong to other MS Forums, please spread the word. The closer we get to the election, the more important it is.

One of the easiest ways to be an advocate for the fight to cure MS or just to have better meds, etc is to go to www.nmss.org and sign up there for advocacy and you will get emails that tell about different bills, etc coming up and all you need to do is put your zipcode in and the pre-written letters will be emailed to your senators and congressmen.

OOPS, I see the site Cheryl referred to had the correct address www.nationalMSsociety.org/advocacy

Just sent a few emails to senators and house member. I am surprised that Senator Durban has not signed on to support the new caucus since he just received an award for ms activism. Thanks for making it so easy!

I hope his name just hasn't been added yet. I would snatch my brother bald if he wasn't on board with something like this! :p
