Sound sleep and diarrhea don't mix

Yesterday I had the sniffles and sneezes all day, just didn't feel good at all. But l started cramping around 10 PM and shortly after the diarrhea started. Went to bed and had a couple of accidents. Had to change my gown three times, change the bathroom rug and clean the hallway floor. Today again I messed an old pair of sleep pants. With my weight loss they really didn't fit anymore anyway so it didn't hurt me to throw them away but the other stuff I worked hard on cleaning. My husband wanted to know if I wanted to wash some other stuff with them. He said ti was silly just to wash those items. I wouldn't want to wash anything else with poopy clothes. I have been OK this evening, I have tried to eat light things about every 2 hours and make sure I drink a lot of water. It did make my scales look good this morning though. I don't know if it will stay that way but I am 3 pounds from being in 'onederland' now. I am sure that there was some point in my life that I weighed less than 200 pounds btu I can't remember.

Doydie,

Have you had a loss of bowel control before?
I just don't like the sound of this situation. I know MS can cause bowel incontinence, but if this is new for you, I'd be seeing a doc.

You are right not to wash 'poopy' clothes with regular clothes. You can spread E-coli bacteria.
Big hugs and feel better!

Sounds like you have a flu bug Doydie. Feel better soon.

Didn't your Doc ever tell you not to take a sleeping pill
and a laxative on the same night?:D Sorry, couldn't resist..

I have had some pretty urgent runs to the bathroom before my diet started. And some times I didn't make it. No, I have never spoken about it to my doc. When it's time for my annual check up I'm not having that problem so I just never remember to ask her about it. Before my diet I was highly irregular. One day I could have 6 regular BMs, the next day diarrhea then nothing for several days. But my normal was to be abnormal. My family doc just siad it was IBS syndrome and told me to up my fiber. But since my diet I would say it is abnormal for me to even have a BM! Some times I go 5 to 6 days without a BM, other times I have several a day and I give them each a childs name because it is like labor passing it and they don't even end up looking like a constipated BM. I drink 8 - 10 8 oz glasses of water a day, eat much more fresh fruit and veggies a day than I have in a long time. I did mention this to my neuro last week and she suggested Miralax. I haven't looked into it because just the name itself sounds like a laxative. As a former RN I DO NOT want to be taking daily laxatives. I do take Colace twice a day and it is still that difficult for me to pass a BM.

Still felt bad today but as the day has progressed I am more and more hungry. Am looking forward to feeling fine tomorrow, eating well and taking a nice walk again. I don't think I have walked since Monday. Well I have walked, just not taken my mile walk.
