Some hope on the horizon
Has anyone heard of the clinical trials that are to start in Switzerland for Atexakin Slfa as the first disease modifying drug for neuropathic? Hoping to reduce pain, improve nerve conductivity and nerve regeneration. Does sound a little too good to be true - but we can hope.
Relief Theraputics are the company licences to start clinical trials |

Sounds promising. Gerry |
Looks good to me, and it already has passed other studies which means it may not be long coming to us finally.

After reading the press release a bit closer, it appears that they have yet to even start Phase II trials - "Relief will engage in clinical development to evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of atexakin alfa...."
In Phase II and III, it is not uncommon to have 6 month delay to even get the trial started. The average Phase III trial lasts over 2 years, give or take - depending on the indication. And that is just the trial time. That doesn't include all the stats, analysis, write up, review, and FDA filing etc. I'm probably less interested in this knowing that it is a Disease Modifying Drug and will probably have a significant side effect profile. However, I will keep one eye on this one.... |
