welcome hardin!
i hope your symptoms have resolved the last month, if not, you probably should go see an ear, nose and throat specialist. yes, a dental implant can perforate the sinuses. the most likely outcome of this is an infection of your sinuses. i didn't read anything that mentioned materials staying in the sinuses, unless you mean the pin inserted into your jaw to hold your implanted tooth staying in the sinus cavity once it pierced it. some other symptoms of a pierced sinus cavity are: Quote:
if you're still having problems, i suggest seeing the ent specialist. hope this has been helpful! jeannie |
I don't know the details of your dental implant and where the placement of your implant is. I would seek advice from a ENT.
I have had multiple oral surgeries pertaining to dental implants that required also having bone grafts and sinus lifts on both sides. I unfortunately had a implant fail 3 times in the same area. Unsure if it is related to the sinus lift. Bone grafting did not form well enough to hold the implant in place. I do believe part of the issue pertains to the sinus lift and my sinuses in general. |
