E-Reader or Paper Books
Which do you prefer?
I like paper as I can write in my own books. Also, I can find used books at garage sales for 50 cents to one dollar (US money) so thet are cheaper than e-books. I think e-books are over-priced for what you get. They also can't be handed down. |

on reading
I think what ever way a person wants to read is great. I am hooked on the Nook. Many books are free. I do think some of the e-books are over priced. I have made complaint of that. Best Sellers and top fiction seem to be a bit much. ginnie

I like paper books. I can get bargains on them as well. I like the feel of a book in my hands.

Many libraries have massive free online book catalogs. LA is free if you live in CA, but you do have to visit a local branch. Philly is free in PA and $35 per year for out of state--a great resource, no gas costs, etc. I am avid reader and am happy to be rid of the cost (yes, even for .50 books add up when you go through one per day, and the cost of gas, as well as additional pain to drive, etc.).

I love my kindle. I get free books from Amazon and borrow e-books from the local library. Every once in a while though, nothing beats the real thing and I head to the library and check out the new release hardcover books.

It would be a very sad day when paper books become extinct.
I love electronics gadgets and "e-readers" and my Kindle For PC. But nothing can be the absolute replacement for paper books. I would hope paper books live on for future generations. |
Hi flutterbye
I guess I like my e-reader, as I can take my library with me if I have to evacuate. My books, well they would be lost in a hurricane. No way would pack those over food and essentials. Hope this good old USA keeps electric going!!!! ginnie
