Lofepramine

My headaches have been worse lately, so I have been prescribed Gaminal (Lofepramine) which is a tryciclic antidepressant instead of Lyrica. Anyone tried this?

I googled Lofepramine. The comments do not impress me. It has been discontinued is some markets.

The fact that is has been discontinued in some markets is because it has lost its licence in them. It is a 3rd generation Tricyclic Antidepressant from 1983 so it is inevitably going to be overtaken by newer drugs.

However its effects are similar to Amytriptiline, which is very good for Neuralgia. Only I refused to take this because it makes me too drowsy, so this is a similar medicine without such levels of drowsiness.

It is a stronger reuptake inhibitor of Norepinephrine and is less sedative.

I really underestimated what the Lyrica was doing for me, because last night I spent half the night awake in pain.

Plan B is to restart the Lyrica with Cymbalta in the morning and Lofepramine and Lyrica at night. Hopefully this will work, but neuropathic pain is very difficult to control. Looks like I am going to have to lead my life with some level of pain.

This plan worked but only at night, so I now have Cymbalta 30mg, Lofepramine70 mg, and Lyrica 75mg in the morning.

I then have Lofepramine 70mg, and Lyrica 75mg at night.

I now get 24 hour pain relief which I haven't had for a very long time.
