Weaning off Celebrex

I have taken Mobic, but discontinued due to stomach upset (I am already on aspirin therapy). The doctor switched to Celebrex, but after researching the drug, I have decided to discontinue it and give Aleve a try. I already have heart disease, and I am simply uncomfortable with the cardiovascular risks. I have read that Aleve (which is tons cheaper anyway) has the lowest cardiovascular risk, so I'll give that a go for awhile.

Anyway, I was on Celebrex 200mg for 7 days, and I took my last one yesterday morning. I don't really understand how half-life works, so I'm not sure when to start the Aleve. Should I give it another day or 2? I don't want to push my luck as far as pain goes, but I don't want to take another Nsaid until the Celebrex has left my system.

I use the Aleve liquigels.... and find them so effective that I only need very low doses.

I've used NSAIDs for years for my arthritis... and one of these daily (or twice a day) do more than the RX 500mg ever did.

Using NSAIDs you should also take fish oil (or Krill oil)...as this will protect your stomach and be anti-inflammatory as well, so allow you to get by with lower doses.

This is just an idea for you.
