Jeff's hip

Just an update....
Called the insurance company, they approved all of the hospital stay...we had gotten a denial for the second day so we were concerned about that.
So that is a relief.
unfortunately the surgery records have not arrived at the potential ortho here so we won't know if he accepts him as a patient which means that he will have to have his staples removed by some one else.
I called his internist to ask if they could remove the staples they have yet to call me back. If they say no then we will have to go to the emergency room to have them removed.
If the ortho here dr. yerger says no that he will not take him as a patient then we will have to pick up the records and take them to another orthos office and start the same process.
This is causing me much stress.
My sister is listening to my tears and giving me good support.
Jeff is at school today doing paperwork. I just talked to him, he sounded good.
I am not done working today so have a couple more people to see then home for the day. Jeff is going to play cards with his friends this evening...so I am happy for him to get out.
He is doing well. I am glad that it is not raining to hard.

Rain too?

Oh, Bizi,

I am glad that he is doing well.
Maybe let him think through the hospital / dr / staples.
He might be able to handle that kind of stress more than you can.

This has got to be stressful!!

I saw Dr. Yerger back in May when I displaced some cartilage in my knee. He was helpful & personable and there is an x-ray room right there in his office. Oddly, what I remember most is that the air conditioner in the waiting room is LOUD. It sounds like a jet taking off when the air kicks on. I hope they give you an answer *soon* about accepting him as a patient.

I am glad that your insurance has given its approval. One less thing off the list is a good thing.

Constant drizzle here. My neighbor's yard is already starting to hold some water.

Do you like to play cards? We'll have to have a card night one time when Jeff is out with his cards crew. When your life calms down.

I was amazed, I came home from work and jeff was cooking dinner.
He was rolling around in the computer chair, it was great. He has long arms that reach every thing, the spices etc. we had delicious pork chops and green beans and those little microwavable mac and cheese that I did. It was very good. I went out in the rain to pick up dressing changes and water and margarita mix so I am fixing to have one right now.
thanks for your support!

Bizi,

He did a lot today: took care of paperwork, saw the friend/ boss, and made dinner.

I am happy that you sound o.k. tonight.

thank you waves...I was really upset today when I found out that the urgent care would not see us. I called my sister and she calmed me down.
It doesn't help that it is raining...going to be a lot more of that tomorrow.
both of our drivers liscenses are expired and we need to get a temporary handicap tag for the car. so we have to both go in tomorrow after the nurse takes out his staples..... sigh not fun.
He had fun at the poker game! we are going to watch an ex files episode.

so much going on...

Dear Bizi,

I am glad to hear Jeff is doing so well. Good spirits and being active, to the extent he can, will help him heal. (you know that! ;)) Still incredulous he made dinner! wow! :)http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/im...ons/icon14.gif

OH... and i definitely think that icko rainy stressy day called for Margaritas! I hope you both thoroughly enjoyed them! :)

Here's hoping the ortho gets back to you quick, with a YES! Sux that you are having so many issues on the medical front, first insurance (relieved that is ok), now the ortho and urgent care.

Wonderful to hear that your sister is supporting you. I know that means the world to you.

I wish i could do more... Let me know if there IS something i can do.

Sending soothing vibes for you, heal-up vibes for Jeff.

love & :hug::hug::hug:

Bizi

Sending you hugs. I'm also upset that the Urgent care wouldn't help
you. It really doesn't make sense.

I hope things start to turn around now.

On a note from this: For everyone else. Just so you know if you ever
have this happen again.

When I was in Washington DC and dislocated my Elbow. The attending
doctor and nurse. Insisted I take the xray and a record of my information
back with me in the Airplane. At the time, I had thought they were
crazy. But now with what has happened with Jeff and Bizi.

I find that there was one more silver lining in that injury. See I had
already known which surgeon. I was going back to care. He was the
one that did surgery on my other one 4 years before. So even when
the nurse on the phone said. We will have to call you back after we
ask him if he will take you on. I was sure he would.

I will never forgot what she said to me when she called back. She said:
Mrs. Roberts, he said, it would be his pleasure to take care of you again.
And he asked me to tell you I am sorry I didn't just tell you that.
I told her I realized it was protecal to tell me the other answer. She told
me she was new to his office. And he informed her. That it wasn't handled
the other way, he never turned down a person, no matter who the original
surgeon was. And she just learned that. Which she was glad to now know.

She would just start making appts. Instead of having to ask first. And she
added, she was so glad the mistake was made on such a understanding patient.
