Ultrasound (US) for muscle tension

Sometimes I have muscles that are tense, but not necessarily painful. Sometimes I have trouble getting them to release. Right now it's my upper left trap.

Is anyone here using ultrasound for this problem? Any thoughts on doing so?

You know what I'm looking for: I just want to zap tense muscles with something and have them release. :)

Chiro usually starts my sessions out with US, IF stim & sometimes LLLT if a specific trouble spot.
US used around the base of neck and across all the upper back/shoulder muscles.

Now that we bought our own US for dh's knee issue - I'm going to start spacing out my DC appts to see how I do on my own. Every other month or more apart..

One prob w/ US is you need somebody to do it on your upper back areas, just hard to reach your self.

I usually hook up my EMS stim if I need extra help to loosen up in that area.
But IF stim is much better.. just didn't know I could buy one online back then.
I just set it low so it's a vibrating/massaging feel - not high enough to make the muscle contract.
