Leg's not right

4 weeks tomorrow since my Laminectomy and I'm walking 2 klm morning and night. The pain is still constant in my thigh and shin. But the weirdest thing is the motion of my leg when i walk any distance is like it's artificial, like i have to tell it to walk. My back is healing and i feel I'm improving every day but my leg isn't. I know it's weird but, My leg IT DOESN'T FEEL APART OF ME. Does anyone know about this. Can there be something wrong with my leg or the messages from my brain to it.
I'm healing but my leg isn't.

I'm OK and positive but not sure what's going on. 😊

Hi Phil,

From what I've read with a quick search, I would advise you to go straight back to your Dr. Something clearly isn't right and needs checking out. It may just need more time, you may just be over exerting yourself, but better safe than sorry.

Dave.

Thanks Dave, I'm due for my 5 week follow up with the surgeon next Friday. Because i was limping so much before the surgery it may just need time. Thanks again.

Sorry to hear this Phil.

Hopefully this problem with your leg will resolve with time. You're still in early stages yet and you had a lot of problems prior to surgery. Your body will need time to adjust.

I'm glad you don't have to wait too long to see the surgeon again. Hopefully you will have a better understanding then of how you're progressing.

Sorry to sound like a broken record, but please don't overdo it. :o

No not at all Lara and thanks. Yeah i need to ask the surgeon alot of questions. Not knowing all the facts or much at all is the hard part. Was up at 4 this morning because my shin was annoying lol.
Had a walk at 5 was ok but constant shin pain.
Like you said if this is to be expected that will be great news.

By the way i liked your pics yesterday
Phil😊

Thanks. I'm glad you liked the photos. It's fun taking them in a new environment because the flora and fauna are so different. Everything is lush here as well. I'm looking forward to going to the Botanical Gardens. I should get some good ones there.

I saw you posted in the middle of the night so figured you must have been in awful pain. Write down a few questions for when you see the surgeon. I've only had experience with one neurosurgeon (but several neurologists) in the past and they were very short with conversation to say the least.

take care
