Life changing event?

Anyone else feel like their concussion has changed their life? I was working a stressful, fast paced job and working on a post-masters and now I am here. Slow. Easy-going. Quiet. Birding. The concussion and accident suck but part of me feels like I needed the change. Like maybe something good will come out of it for me. I feel like I used to be very calculated and serious about my life and career now I feel like I want something more meaningful for me. Something less stressful even if its less pay etc. Make sense?

I think any life changing event is going to make you take stock of your life. It's made me less concerned with material wealth, which is just as well since my earnings have plummeted lol. Modern life is very fast and stressful I think my concussion has made me realise the really important things like family that it would have taken a few more years to appreciate. I reckon if we can turn a crappy event into positive then that's great.

Yes I feel less concerned with money and appearances at this point. Like its ok if my house is a bit messy or if I wear comfy clothes when people visit. All that matters is connection to people. Family, friends and those close to us. It sounds cheesy but its true. I feel like I had to slow down more than I ever have in my whole life. It made me see things differently and I have learned from it. I hope it continues.
