I have 2 friends who have it; it does help them. They felt it was worth doing.

Take care.

I'm thinking about this as well. My spasticity is reaching critical mass and is passing out of the inconvenient stage to outright dangerous, since it often causes falls. The oral meds just don't help that much, and I can't tolerate oral baclofen because it makes me so weak.

What I'm worried about is taking away the spasticity. Weakness is a major problem for me and my right leg is virtually useless, with the left leg very weak. Spasticity is the only thing getting me to my feet for the very short times I need for getting my pants up or down, such as for dressing or toileting. I've been dragging my feet on the whole pump issue because of this.

Spoons,

No they didn't have problems with the spinal tap.

Chris,

I've read that spasticity can be to our benefit.

Take care.

Chris,

I am in a wheelchair and also have spasticity. My neuro thinks it will get me out of the wheelchair and help my spacticity, too. I asked him about the "pill" form, and he said it wouldn't get to the spine enough to help. Plus, it affects your kidneys, liver, etc.

I think you should both talk to people who have it and see how it effects their weakness. I have heard that too, about taking the spasticity away and then weakness sets in.

I just don't know if I would do this without getting first hand knowledge. I always thought that the Bpump was for those who could no longer stand at all and suffered from horrible spasiticity.
