Supplement for eyes.

Would this be a safe supplement to take as far as neuropathy goes? I have selected this one for my eyes. I have a lot of light sensitivity and dry eyes.( possibly from Sjogrens)
Perhaps Mrs D would have a comment.

Sorry, Mrs.D. The name is PreserVision by Bausch + Lomb. It contains Vit.A 14,320IU, Vit. C 226 mg, Vit E 200 IU, Zink 34,8 mg, Copper o.8 mg.

Thanks again

That is made for eyes, mostly retinal health. The Vit A ...is it broken down into retinol and betacarotene? How much of each?

Fish oil is also helpful... some eye doctors are using it now as well.
(you take that orally).

Is this it?

I see no real vit A in it. Some people cannot convert beta carotene to real A...so taking about 5,000IU of real A may be a good idea too. (this is common in those with hypothyroidism).

I never let myself run out of Simalasn for Dry Eyes, it's homeopathic. I've been using it for years, don't deal with PN but eyes dry out with age. I know grape seed extract is great for eye health in general and I'm on it 2 decades soon. It addresses so much including eyes. Lutein/billberry are good for eyes also and I take this too. I wear sun glasses even when cloudy outside.

Yes, Mrs D, that is it,(the link).
On the box it states Vitamin A (beta-carotine) 286%.

My ophthalmologist recommended a tab called Aridium a long time ago due to prevention of developing further Macular Degeneration. I used it for a long time. It was expensive at $ 28.
So, now I found this product, and thought perhaps it was similar, and that it would help for the photosensitivity as well.

The product also contains Zink 232% and Copper 40 %, and I was worried re. my SFN. I know these are in the panel for SFN blood test.

In any case, I should ask the ophthalmologist if this one is OK.

Yes, I do take Fish Oil. I finally found a brand that does not give me heartburn. It is a brand from Whole Foods.

Thanks for your input.

Do some research on grape seed ex and eye health...you will find a LOT of info. At 77 soon, my eyes are pretty OK...I have not gone to an eye doc going on 7 yrs...this is ME, went all my life and feel for so much of my health grape seed extract is my doctor....I've been taking OPC's for 20 yrs. That's gotta say something. Good wishes. I don't know what an eye doc would say about OPC's but I believe many pharmacists know about grape seed ex et al.
