Experience with Cavernous Malformation of the spine?

Hello! I am new and trying to find anyone to talk with that has experienced the same condition as I. I was diagnosed with a cavernous malformation in my spinal cord, T3/4 region last year. I had surgery to remove, which was successful but with nerve damage in my legs. My right leg is much worse, bottom of my foot almost numb. While the nerve damage is very uncomfortable and I find relief from Gabapentin, I can walk which is a blessing. But the real pain is coming from my upper back, the muscles surrounding the surgical area. I have so much pain, daily, especially during the week when I work at my desk. I have returned to physical therapy, pt thinks i just need to stretch the muscles and build muscle. I want to believe that but who has experienced this? Who has experience with nerve damage resulting from surgery in legs? Did it get better or am I looking forward to a much altered life? I look forward to any advice. Thank you
