A helpful tip for those that lose long posts

For those experiencing frustration of losing long posts that time out before you are able to submit them..............

try checking the "remember me" box when you log in to Neurotalk. This will save your info so that when the forum default timer kicks in, your post that you are working on wont get kicked out:wink:

hope that helps:)

you can still get your post back...

I appreciate the hint, Chemar. This happens to me a lot.
Didn't know about the "remember me"..

But I discovered two ways to avoid losing the post when the
log out happens.

1) Log in at that screen, and carefully hit "back" two (or three times--I forget which). If you have NOT made a keystroke after logging back in, you can get back to your reply box with the post still in it.

2) also...you can open a new window as soon as the log out happens, and log in there. Then return to your reply box and hit submit.

Also when I now post long posts, and type a bit, and submit. Then I go to edit function and type some more and submit, etc until I am finished. So in essence there are 3 ways to save your work.

my preferred way to protect my text when i know that i will be posting a long reply is to type it in word... then, i copy & paste it in here

i wish you all have a good SUNday and an energizing winter SOLstice ! :)

If you use the multiple tabs feature on your browser..{or multiple browser windows open}
Have 2 tabs/windows open to NT.
If you get timed out or logged off, don't close that window.

Use your second tab/window to sign in again.
Then you should be able to re-submit your post with no problems.
{You may need to go back a page and then re submit your post from that page}
