Parents were moving to Houston to have their children cared for by ???????
Any ideas? Not sure if its a doctor, nutritionalist or teacher???? A friend told me about it...but ofcourse I missed the segment! THANKS!!!!! :grouphug: |
Sorry. I wish I could help but I can't. I live far too far away.
My cousin's 6 year old grandson has recently been diagnosed with autism, so I'll be watching to see what answers you get. I just wanted to send you  because no-one had yet replied. |
I didn't see it, but I'm guessing RDI? Relationship Development Intervention http://www.rdiconnect.com/. The founder has a place in Houston http://www.farrsite.org/. I am not an expert on RDI. My understanding is that the developer studied development stages of NT kids and broke the stages down into baby steps. With this info, they're able to help autistic kids form relationships. You don't look at someone's face (eyes) because you get M&Ms. You look at their face because there is information there... are they teasing you? Are they happy? Are they mad? All sorts of info you don't get if you don't look at the person. The (few) people I know doing RDI are getting phenomenal results. I think this is what Jenny McCarthy is doing.
RDI does not get into biomedical treatments. If you have food allergies or whatnot, you'll see better results if you treat for the allergies (and chelation or whatever) and do RDI, then if you did either alone. |
