Shoes

There are reports that people are fighting and even being arrested over the release of new shoes......Air Jordan to be specific.

WHAT is wrong with people????

One woman here in GA left her two toddlers alone in the car just so she could run in the mall and try and buy a pair of these $180 shoes. She was arrested. Kids carted off to who knows where. Great Christmas memory for them.

Where we live people KILL for shoes etc!

I don't get it either.

they probably all think that the shoes are going to make them some famous basketball player or something.

It'll probably just make them shoeless when someone stabs them and cuts their feet off to get the shoes for themselves.

And they think that there won't be any more of these shoes made after this first release?

I watched the crowds on the news and these people are truly disturbed. Putting that much importance on a pair of shoes.....and ridiculously overpriced shoes.......is just wrong. :(

If I paid $180 for a pair of shoes I'd be afraid to wear them. :p

The Black Friday shoppers were a little nuts. The shoe people they are <multiple swear words> crazies!

I can see getting a little excited on Black Friday, but these are just shoes, and they're not even that good looking. I think they're ugly!

Did you see the video of the kids getting trampled trying to get into the door of a store to get these shoes? The parents should have a visit from Child Services just for having their kids out at time of night and letting the kids actually try to go into the store.

Greed has always made people do stupid and reckless things. There is nothing new under the sun.

I remember people fighting over Air Jordans in the 1980's when they were brand new.

Shoes have been a status symbol for kids since Spalding and Keds in the fifties. They were expensive too, for their time.:rolleyes:
I don't remember them being fought over and killed for though..:(

This fiasco is created by our advertisers/pushers with jacked up prices and famous sportsmen/women signing on to promote it. It's all about making money. If a few kids get killed in the process, well, thats just, what they call, "An Acceptable Risk"

And the parents go along like the sheep that they have become. It's past time to put our foot down with our Kids..

I used to like Vans, but I wouldnt kill anyone for a pair. (I still have a pair I bought in the early 90s. They're blue suede. Still look fairly new too)

Right now, all I can wear are Crocs, and I cant find any decent ones in the stores right now. Guess that fad is fading. Thank goodness for internet shopping. I think I'll go buy some new Crocs if they still make them.
