purses

sometimes i can wear a crossbody fine sometimes i cant at all

i definite cannot "hold my purse" that is too exhausting

how do you all deal with this?

Jomar 03-16-2011 12:11 PM

I switched to a soft light weight backpack type purse. leather or leather like.

I can carry it or unzip the straps and wear it like a backpack, the softness conforms to how full it is as well as flattens and doesn't jab you like the thick /firm leather.

I wore out 2 of the soft leather ones so got one with a little firmer leather this time, but I reall liked the ones I got from Amazon better than this new one - it was on sale and my other one had gotten a hole it it, so i didn't want to wait for a online ordered one to arrive.

here's the soft one from Amazon-

HEY,

I HAVE LITTLE USE FOR AN EXPENSIVE PURSE AFTER TOS ! ! ! !

DAMN, I HATE THAT.

...AND NO MORE HIGH HEELS BECAUSE OF BACK AND NECK. DRESSING REQUIREMENTS CERTAINLY HAVE CHANGED.

NEED FLEECE WARM FOR UPPER BODY - COLD STUFF FOR HOT FLASHES - NO PANTS TO PREVENT LOWER BACK IRRITATION. MISERABLE. . . .

WHEN I DO GO IN, IT'S USUALLY FOR SOMETHING IN PARTICULAR. I CARRY NECESSARY ID AND CREDIT CARDS, CASH (PREFER RIGHT, FRONT PANT) IN CLOTHES POCKETS.

I DON'T WRITE MANY CHECKS BUT WILL TAKE CHECK AND PEN IN HAND IF NECESSARY. I PREFER TO USE CREDIT CARDS AND GET REWARDS.

ACTUALLY, I DON'T SHOP AS MUCH. QVC & HSN, SWANNS FOOD, STAPLES, MPB (FURTURE USE), RESTAURANT DELIVERY, HUSBAND DOES THE REST. I SHOP ABOUT TWICE A MONTH. MAYBE UP TO 5 IF I'M LOOKING FOR SOMETHING SPECIAL. DIDN'T REALLY REALIZE THAT, EITHER. TIME PASSES BY SO QUICK.

I HAVE RESORTED TO CARRYING STUFF IN MY BRA ! ! ! A YOUNG CHECKOUT GIRL CAUGHT ME AND SAID, "I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU DID THAT. I THOUGHT MY GRANNY ONLY DID THAT. OMG!" :D :o:p you do what you have to do

I HAVE PUT STUFF IN MY SOCKS - THAT DIDN'T WORK OUT TOO GOOD. THE EXTRA WEIGHT CAUSES SOCK TO SLID DOWN LEG. MAY LOOSE STUFF THAT WAY.

I HAVE CARRIED STUFF IN MY SHOE.

I HAVE A DOG PAW HOOK, IN MEMORY OF MY BEST DOGFRIEND MAGGIE, FOR MY KEYS I R E L I G I O U S L Y HOOK ON THE RIGHT HIP WHEN OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND IN MY PURSE WHEN NOT USING THEM.

THEY MAKE THOSE NEW ALUMINUM WALLETS FOR CREDIT CARD PROTECTION. I'M GOING TO GET THAT. THAT WILL SOLVE TWO PROBLEMS FOR ME.

YOU DO HAVE TO ACCOMMODATE AND THEN ADJUST YOUR NEEDS. IT'S A CONSTANT TWEAKING PROCESS. DON'T GIVE UP.

High heels are horrible for your feet anyway LOL :)
my mom has some nasty bunions, not a pretty sight.

I do remember during the really bad times I purposely bought coats & jackets with deep zip up pockets - just so I could carry my basics and they would be zipped up and secure.

Also have a couple fanny packs from before I found the backpack bag.

hahahaha stuffing things in your boobs!!

jomar that purse actually does look very comfortable

i dont see how you all deal with this. its affected my appearance bc i am SO LAZY, no makeup, no styling my hair, i lie on my bed to put on my pants bc i dont want to bend over and pull them up. im very particular about things getting near/around my neck. i dont like layering my clothes anymore but i really need to when i ride the bus (that in and of itself can be very uncomfortable too).

shoes, tying my shoes is exhausting.

i cut my own hair and thank god its thick or else youd see what a hack job it is.

mspennyloafer 03-17-2011 10:04 AM

yeah my keys are really heavy i dont like having them in my purse

Jomar 03-17-2011 12:28 PM

I've cut my own hair for ages , have to do in sections as my arms get tired after awhile.
kind of a shag/mullet LOL short around the face and gradually longer to the back.
it's thick & curly/wavy so hides most boo boos.

only wear makeup for special occasions

bulky or heavy coats - can't handle them at all

Sometimes it is not the cross body but what we put in it.

My Nylon Bagellini; has a small pack tissues, chap-stick, eyeglasses, pen. Lidoderm patch and one day pills. The tiniest brush in the world.

I carry my cell phone in my bra...yuck, but if with dh that is all I need.
I have a wristlet ID, cards, cell and cash.
Usually I can keep it in the waist carrier, but the wristlet protects the magnetic strip in my card, and holds the cell snug. Love my hands free blue tooth too,

If alone, I have the wristlet and it fits the cell phone in the back. It was a treat from Vera Bradley, on clearance and $5 shipping or free with the order can't remember.

Now in the car is my real bag, with one of those Kangaroo carrier so I can switch from one to another.

The closest thing to high heels I have are Croc's
I actually have one pair that have a strap sandals with heel. Not too high and are for not really walking. Croc's Mary Jane for the summer, and Croc's band with limited fleece for winter.

sneakers I have Sketchers that are like Mary Jane's, one dressy pair and one neutral with airy weave top area. Then a functional RYKA that have a lot of room and no pinching. I put in gel inserts for cushion.

Do you remember where you got your wristlet?

Can you take a pic or post a url for it? I'd like two of those, please... :d

ditto Jo*mar

I traded looks for comfort too.

I can't believe my haircuts looked as good as they did...:D

Hairdryer on a stand saved me from a lot of pain back in the day.
