Christmas Eve: What is happening? Anyone still shopping or cooking?

Merry Christmas!

For the first time ever I have a little Christmas party I have to go to.
One of my colleagues at work invited some of us over to his house Wednesday evening.
Hubby is going to cook something for it.

Have you been out in the stores??!!!
Whoah. Even the roads seem busier than normal.

I went to the grocery store Monday evening with the afterwork crowd (6:00 pm) and felt overwhelmed. I had to park in a faraway lot and walk a little.

Tonight (Tuesday) I went to Michaels (like a Hobby Lobby if you have them near you) to buy a bandana for my friend in the Assisted Living Place. Everybody in the world was there. I was happy to see the cashiers were moving things along quickly.

'Wishing everyone a safe holiday.

Mari,

I went to Bible study earlier today and then to the neighborhood bar. I just don't feel like making those pies. I will later.

Here is something I made a few years back with the graphic editor GIMP. This is for all here now.

Dear Barbara,
That is beautiful.
Thank you.
Enjoy the pies when you are in the right moods for them.
What kind are you making?

I'm wishing I had some sweet potato pie.

I am sitting here working on prepping for Christmas Dinner tomorrow and preparing to share a bottle of champagne with Jack later after Jackie is in bed. I took Jackie to Winn Dixie today and he was really good for me. He's been acting better, I think he's just happier to have friends. Though we've not seen the boys for almost a week now, I think Jackie is just happier knwoing he has them to play with during the week.

I have had a really good birthday today and I don't feel real bad abouthitting forty either. I thought I might but I don't, I really don't. Woke up happy and have had a nice day so things are great. Still got issues and all but they aren't at the forefront of my mind right now. :D

Merry Christmas to everyone! :D

Thank you Mari. I have the coconut pies in the oven now. I think though that I put too much sugar in them. My late mother-in-law wrote the recepi down for me many years ago and she had the habit of screwing up the recipe she wrote to make me look bad. One year she wrote down too much milk in the recepi for chocolate pie. I told my husband I thought it was too much and he said his mom knew what she was talking about. Then he changed his story when the pies turned out soupy. He said his mom must have meant a coffee cup and not a measuring cup. Then another time she told me to put pepper in corn pudding. That time I didn't fall for it though.

Pam, Happy Birthday to you. I wish I was 40 again. Although I seem to fall for men around that age and I'm
53. I need to do better. Have fun with the champagn.

Dear Pam,
That's good that Jackie is having fun with new friends now.
40 can be a good year. I hope it is for you.

Dear Befuddled,
Coconut pies sound good. I hope that they came out to your satisfaction.

Dear Beth,
Merry Christmas!

Hubby and I went to a quiet party and then came home. We enjoyed being with some friends and their families and pets and such. Then I watched the pope say mass from the Vatican while I talked to my sis on the phone.
