coffee makers

I have a tassimo and love it, but the discs for it are hard to find. I am considering a keurig style maker because the cups are so easy to come by. I also understand you can use your own coffee, or stick a tea bag in the Kcup and use your own stuff. Also hot water can be gotten by just closing the lid and not using a cup.

My question is what model do I get? I dont need a timer function to wake me, so no need to waste money on that. I would like to choose my cup size, and want more than a single serving of water in the machine.

Do any of you have this machine? what can you tell me?

My sister got one for Christmas...
I haven't talked to her yet but will find out the particulars and how she likes it...

I'll get back to you asap.
:)

P.S. I would love to have one of these too.... :D

I've got one. Sorry I didn't see this sooner.

It has a reservoir that holds at least five cups of water. You can select cup size, which will affect the strength of the coffee. The little thing they have for tea bags/own coffee is neat -- but the one for the little coffee packets has to be taken out in order to use it. I only add that since I almost forgot once, LOL!

I was skeptical when the hubby brought this home, but it's worked out a lot better than I had hoped. Target and Bed, Bath, and Beyond have been the best places around here so far for coffee packets. Quite a variety running around out there.

Oh, and we have the one with the timer. Helpful since it takes a minute or two for the water to heat up.

so the water isnt instant hot like Tassimo, and you have to remove the guts to fit in the Kcup holder. I would like to know if I can just get a cup of hot water from it, or will it only work with a cup in place? I like instant oatmeal and this would be helpful.

Anyone else?

I'm going to see if others post on this because I am curious about this machine, too.

I'm still using my Mr. Coffee but would love one of the ones that makes 1 cup at a time. Tassimo or Keurig. I just can't convince myself to spend the money on it since the one I have still works.

Love the Tassimo, but the Keurig does many more teas, and you can put your own tea bag into the Kcup and use it that way, or your own coffee grounds.

I am hoping that I can also get hot water from it, and then I would invest, if not...i hesitate.

Dej,
How about the Keurig mini? Doesn't have a lot of the bells and whistles of the regulars, but maybe it's up your alley, and it's a lot cheaper, too. I'm considering it...

We have a Keurig at work and you can get just hot water from it. Just make sure the K-cup holder is empty and clean. (I won't use the one at work because some people mess with the K-cup foil and then you wind up with who knows what grounds in with your drink.) I don't know what model ours is but we've had it for less than a year. When you turn it on it takes a minute for the water to heat up. If you don't turn it off you will have hot water throughout the day. The one at work has a tank that holds water for several cups. You can make two sizes of liquid warmth. No timer with ours. It is nice until you have stray grounds from mis-handling of K-cups. You can get off brand K-cups too.

TY! this answers my question exactly! I would buy and take MY OWN Kcup if I worked at one of those places. I hate coffee, and it would spoil the taste of my tea.

I am going to invest in one! I think I want the mid ranged one. I dont need a timer to wake me up with fresh anything, but I would like to pick my cup size. The mini one doesnt allow you to choose between a 6oz cup and an 8 oz cup or a travel mug.

I also like the Cusinart one, that holds Kcups. it has a rinse feature, and does spit out hot water. Wahoo! I have been asking and asking and this is the first time I got my answer.
