Anybody else's legs feel really weird?

My legs feel like they have tight bands around them. The muscles feel so strange and sometimes I have trouble getting them work right. This started about 4 months ago in my calves and now it is my whole legs. Anybody else have this? Is this part of small fiber neuropathy?

Yes, both my hands and feet do.
I am not sure if it is the SFN.
I only had this in my feet prior when I worked long hours and it resolved after rest and sleep.
I now wake up with it.

My biggest indicator that something was really wrong was when I would lose my gait when running. My legs would stiffen up to the point that I would lose control of them a few miles into a run. I started tripping a lot and even fell a few times. It got to the point that my legs felt like they were made of cement and even walking was a chore. Then, my arms started feeling very heavy. I didn't notice it as much. My pcp was convinced I had MS. She still tries to tell me this. But my neuro has assured me that all of my issues are SFN.

Yes, the feeling of tight bands around my feet and lower legs is one of the most uncomfortable sensations. Sometimes it is almost unbearable. I have had the symptom for many years. I have hereditary neuropathy, SFN and LFN.

Whatever muscle group the SFN has gone into never feels normal again. For example my thigh muscles feel as if I worked them out with a small amount of walking. There's a deep ache in the muscle that is just not right.

How do you live with this pain? I have SFN mostly in my feet (since 2011) and most time it is unbearable even with pain medication. I also take Lyrica 600 mg per day, Benfotiamine and Metanx. For me the pain is actually worse during the day (I work at a desk job) and I wear slippers for most of the day. I want to scream out in pain most times but of course, cannot. I have also had two major back surgeries so I am unable to bend down to rub any type of cream on my feet. I am only 67 years old, the thought of this pain for the rest of my life leaves me wondering.....

I am 54. I have had pain in my legs and restless legs since childhood, but the pain really became unbearably sharp in the past 6 or 7 years. It appears unaffected by activity, in fact walking improves it while I am walking. Later, not so much. Standing is very painful and I use a wheelchair if I will have to stand like at museums or theme parks. I have the burning and feeling of constriction as well, the SFN is up to hip/waist level now, but the sharp pains and deep ache are the worst.
I am on MS Contin ( time release morphine ), gabapentin, and Baclofen for muscle spasms. It has been very effective for me, allowing me to be more active at least part of the day. I really believe that there is a medication or combination of medications which would improve quality of life for most of us.the hardest thing is finding a doctor willing to listen and to have the patience for the trial and error necessary to find the best regime. Neurologists do not want to do this in most cases.
