Teeth migration
 

My husband has teeth which are migrating forward and pushing the front teeth forward. We have has two extracted and the rear and no longer making contact which is making chewing next to impossible. Does anyone have any expereince with this? Thank you Adelle

Generally when the front teeth start to move forward or twist out of alignment it is due to periodontal disease which causes a deterioration in the bone resulting in bone loss around the teeth. It could also occur in people who are missing molars because this too causes deterioration in the supporting bone causing an unnatural shift in the bite.

It can be very difficult to chew food when you are missing several teeth. Perhaps his dentist can make a removable partial denture for him to replace those missing teeth?

Thank you for your reply. His gums and Xrays look good as far as breakdown of the bone. We see an oral surgeon in Sept. to see if she has any ideas. I will post if we find out anything. Thanks
