Question about Surgery

Has anyome here w/ Fibro ever had plastic surgery?
If so, how was your recovery?

Next month I have a consultation scheduled w/ a cosmetic surgeon to have breast implant surgery and a tummy tuck. Both procedures will be done at the same time.
I am concerned that since I have Fibro, my recovery might be a bit rougher and longer. Although, I may be wrong.
Another concern is whether the doctor would even want to operate on someone w/ Fibro. Has anyone ever encountered this??
I would greatly appreciate stories from others whom have gone through either elective and/or necessary operations to find out their experiences.

Thanks in advance!

Hope everyone is doing well. :)

Hi Robyn. I've had too many surgeries to count, and my p-doc always reminds me that the recovery may be a bit longer/tougher with fibromyalgia. I've never had a surgeon not do surgery because of fibro. Just be prepared to deal with a possible flare.

Thanks, Doody.
I fully expect my recovery to be a bit harrowing. Since I deal w/ pain to varying degrees on a daily basis, I'm pretty sure I can handle it.

Make sure that your doc is aware that you have FM. This way he can properly medicate you for the pain after the surgery.
