New Member with Post Concussion Syndrome

Hello, my Kristen and I am new. I fell on our icy driveway and landed straight on the back of my head. That was on a Thursday evening, I don't remember anything from that fall until Saturday morning. Saturday I go to the ER to get a CT, no bleed. So I go to work on Monday, Tuesday to a doctors appt., and funeral. My doctor will not let me go back to work. He said with the memory loss and I guess my speech was slurred and my sentences weren't making sense I have to let my brain heal.
So in that "healing" time I lost my job. But that is no big deal, what I am the most afraid of is that I am going to stay like this. I am getting better little by little, but I need to know if I will recover completely. I need to know if I will be like I was, 100%. I am in speech & coordination therapy. And everything my therapists and doctors are telling me, so if anyone knows anything about this. I would love to hear about it. Thank you, Kristen

Hi, Kristen, and welcome to the community. It's a little slow right now for some reason, but I'm sure there will be folks along who can give you some input! In the meantime, check out this forum if you haven't already...lots of information and support here!!

Welcome Kristen! Sorry about your fall. :( I'm not a Dr., but I'm optimistic about the body's ability to heal itself. I'll bet you eventually regain your abilities. Until then, hang around and meet the gang. We have a lot of fun here and welcome you!
