please help-Experiencing burning pains-upper body

I have been experiencing some unusual symptoms lately.i have fibromyalgia&have had for several years.by the way the symptoms
I have now that started a week or two ago arent like fibromyalgia.
I been having burning&dull aches in neck/throat&in my upper
back&back of neck.They start at nighttime.The neck/throat
pain will start a few hours before bed(am niteowl)then when
i get in bed the upper back pain&pain in back of neck starts.
Recently I started experiencing cold chills every 3-4 days
with it at bedtime when I get into bed. Then the other day
I also got some bad shakes with severe cold chills&felt
weak sorta like when my sugar is low.But I had diabetes
diagnosis 3 yrs ago when I was on antidepressants then
when I changed docs the new doc said my sugar levels are fine.
I feel neglect by my doc b/c i started amitryptiline&the symptoms
seem to be occuring with the meds. But my doc&her husband are both
docs&both say it isnt related to my med but is under serious side effects
so its got me really scared. The doc is running blood work to check&I will
get next week.In meantime I been reading about MS & am worried I
may have it.My doc wont refer me to a neurologist. She just puts me
on meds to relieve pain for fibromyalgia but it feels pretty bad&I
dont want to complicate things more by continuing meds&having
symptom not knowing if the med is the problem or something more
serious like MS.My fathers mother died of 3-4 possible diseases in
her late 50's.I am 33 but her symptoms started in her 40's I think.
her 1st diagnosis was lupus,then,polymyositis while alive.After
her death they did two autopsies&said was cystic fibrosis or
muscular dystrophy.A lot of her symptoms are what I have.
One last thing,my mothers mom has fibromyalgia&osteoporosis.
I hope someone out there has similar symptoms that already
has diagnosis.Thanks,Shellie.:Bang-Head:

I'm sorry I don't have any of your new symptoms, I do have fibromyalgia though. Have you tried posting in the areas that your relatives have had diseases in. Seeing if these are symptomes.

Also I would definately if your insurance will allow go straight to a neurologist without your doctor's okay. I think its much more important to have your own piece of mind.

By the way what do you take for fibromyalgia?

Ask your doc to test for some viruses. This is what causes my burning. Mine is related to the shingles family but without much of a rash. There are many strains and they attack the nerves and the nervous system.

Valtrex has made a great improvement for me.

valtrex/generic

what is valtrex usually prescribed for&do u know the generic name for iy?i am on medicaid program so i am only able2get generics and my doc usually uses generic names.

Its usually prescribed for a herpes outbreak either genital or cold sores. But many of these viruses are in the herpes family like chicken pox and shingles and epstein barr and HHv6.

You can always try some l-lysine which is a supplement and if you get some relief you know there might be a viral component.

Generic name for Valtrex is valacyclovir.

If you can't get that, the first generation acyclovir (Zovirax)
is just as good for herpes infections - HSV1, HSV2, shingles,
chicken pox.
