anyone else heard of not buying gas on may 2

has anyone else heard of a national boycot on buying gas this friday may 2nd?, if not i think its a good idea to do this once a month (or twice) for the next few months to let them know kiss our gas tanks

why would that make a difference if you don't cut down on driving?

you're just going to get gas on another day. same profit then. who knows..price could be even higher. or am i missing something?

weegot5kiz 04-30-2008 08:51 PM

supposely(sp?) it leaves a surplus and the price goes down,

yeah right another internet bs story if you ask me thats my feelings on this

I get an email about this every 3 or 4 months of every year, and have done for about 2 or 3 years.

Each time the wording is the same, but the date has been changed.

Each time I do the same thing and hit the delete button.

Urban Legend

Unfortunately, not buying gas on a certain day will not affect the rising prices of gasoline and will not affect the oil companies at all. For a more detailed explanation, here is the link to Snopes.

Cyn is right, no matter how many well-meaning boycotters there are, there is still a vast majority who will pay any price to keep going.

I like to take the time to get one gallon on my credit card at every pump to up the merchant's fee, pressure on the retail level can cause pressure at the distribution level and so on up the chain. Besides, it amuses me.
