New here still looking for diagnosis

Hi. I'm a healthy mom of 4 small children. I started having odd symptoms almost 1 year ago, a few months after my last child was born. It started with dizziness that came over me and has never left. Not spinning dizzy, but like I've had too much to drink or I've taken a drug. I thought I was coming down with something at the time. 2 weeks after the dizziness began, I started getting headaches. Burning, dull aches in the back of my head. The headaches lasted everyday for 6 months. Then they gradually turned into a dull ache on specific spot on the back, right side of my head spreading into pressure in my eyes between my eyebrows. These headaches caused a lot of added stress to my busy life. A few months back I noticed an intermittent buzzing/vibrating feeling in the bottom of my left foot. within a few weeks it moved to my other foot and became constant. Having fasciculations in legs (attributing to stress). One morning, about a month after the buzzing started, I woke up feeling itchy or kind of sunburned on my upper thighs and lower arms. The burning is now in my face, backs of hands, backs of thighs, calves and sometimes neck and tops of feet. I have noticed a decrease in sensation more so on my left side of body but various places head to toe.

I have seen 3 neurologists and had lots of bloodwork, an MRI of head, neck and lower spine. Sed rate, ANA are normal. Thyroid, vit deficiencies are all normal. MRI's are normal except for mild herniated, degenerating disc in L5-S1. Saw a naturopath who did a complete nutritional panel and said I was deficient in vit E, B12, Selenium, and SIgA was depressed. Adrenal stress test was normal. I had been taking a b12 sublingual for a few months before the last test came back deficient, so that was interesting. My mom was diagnosed with hypothyroidism at 30 after her last child was born. I always thought that's what I must have. Tested it 5 times. Still normal. I'm not on any prescription meds nor ever was. Taking some supplements now. I'm active, healthy, I eat organic, cut out alcohol completely after only having the occasional drink, no caffine and I haven't been exposed to toxins to my knowledge. Appointment next week with a new neurologist in a different city. Still looking for answers. Trying to keep my head up. Thanks for taking the time to read.

Hi, Annie.

I'm so glad you found us. I know if had presented such a clear list of symptoms on a timeline as you have done here, I would have expected the light of knowledge to spread across my medico's face. "Oh, yes! It's either X or Y, & we'll do Z right away to find out which!"

But that didn't happen, & I guess all too often it doesn't.

I don't remember it clearly any longer, but some of your symptoms remind me of an incident in New Mexico or Arizona 3 or 4 decades ago. People were coming up with all sorts of health problems, turned out to be coming from medical nuclear waste leaks nearby. Have you heard of anyone else with any of your symptoms around? Is there any waste storage in your area?

There's a Search tab above, just right of center on the teal bar. Use that to search for forums/threads/posts on any specific symptom. Jump on in to whatever's going on there, ask questions, start your own thread & introduce yourself. You'll find people with both info & empathy.

Stay in touch with us & let us know how the appt with the new neuro doc goes. And you can come by here to yak about how you feel about all this too. How you feel is a big part of how you are. No matter the emotion, we've been there.

Sorry for the delay on posting

Thank you all for the welcome! I had my MRI with my new doc and it showed a spot on my brain scan. They have a stronger magnet there so that might be why it showed up or it might be new. They can't say for sure. But I continue to have neuropathy and new symptoms. Hoping for some answers to grab onto soon!

Just posted a new post in peripheral neuropathy because I have been told I have neuropathy by a neuro.

Thanks for your replies!

Regards,
Annie
