Micro Laminectomy

I am scheduled for a micro laminectomy on the 9th of June and I am terrified. I have the pain in the hip and down my leg and also numbness at times. But my biggest pain is the spasms that constantly go across my back and the weak feeling and burning in my lower back. I am afraid the laminectomy will not take care of that lower back pain, only the leg and hip pain. The back pain is debilitating. There are times I cannot get out of bed at all, not even with help from my husband. Does anyone know if the lower back pain is also relieved by this procedure? Thanks, Candy

We are trying to decide about surgery - please help!

We are thinking about microlaminectomy vs. traditional laminectomy. Can you tell me what you think, now that you've had it done? Thank you. Did it relieve your leg pains? How extensive was the operation, ie how many levels, any discs, etc. Thank you so much!
