Antibodies are increasing

In March I had my bloodwork done with the following results.
1. ACH Recptor muscle binding AB....0.38
2. Calicum Channel binding AB P/Q type....0.08
3. ACHR Receptor binding RIA....7.50
4. Striationial ABS...1:640

In May I had a big improvement in my leg strength so the doctor sent off my bloodwork again thinking these numbers would improve. However they went HIGHER. I don't have the numbers yet but the nurse said they all 4 increased.

I always thought these numbers didn't mean a whole lot except positive or negative. Am I correct?
Thanks
Mike

Yes, that's true. Unless you're some part of a study, I can't see why the doctor would be testing you again. I've had MG for 14 years and I've just had one test each of ACHR and MuSK. The level of antibodies have little to nothing to do with the amount of symptoms one is or is not experiencing.

Enjoy the good days!

He may have done this for his own interest because he was in the group of doctors that discovered the first antibodies in MG.

Really? How old is the guy? LOL

He's got some years on him. I'm guessing late 60's early 70's. He went to school with Dr Howard of Duke. He is also big buddies with Dr Donald Sanders both who have written some great papers on MG.

Cool. Sounds like you're in good hands and also that he's studying your antibodies!:p My neuro is at a teaching hospital and she wrote a paper and I could tell I was part of the data. Gotta get your "15 minutes" wherever you can, right? LOL
