How many have Kyphosis, and how do you treat it?
Please answer the poll
Hi! I was just wondering how many of you suffer from cervical kyphosis? It is often seen in patients with TOS.. Apparently I've had it for years, and I am currently trying to treat it. Finding a good exercise is difficult. I've been adviced to do several different excersises, but im trying to find the best one. To those of you, who doesn't know what kyphosis is- here's an example picture: Normal: http://img849.imageshack.us/img849/7...00402at301.png Uploaded with ImageShack.us Loss of curve (Cervical Kyphosis) http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/107...a970c01157.jpg If you have it, please post your tips and excersises on how to correct it. Thanks |
I had some loss of the normal curvature mentioned often by PTs & chiro.
Also mentioned was flatness thru T spine area. Most notable changes happened w/ chiropractor - lost much of the noticeable C/T area "hump" also. Some improvement was from resolving trigger points & spasms as well as the adjustments. My chiro did the manual TrP tx as well as txing the myofascial issues. PT & DC both tx'd the raised top rib issues too. Al these pieces of the TOS puzzle....tricky to figure out since we get varying sx and causes. Mostly trial and error to find what works best for each of us. |
i have this
orthopedists wil lie say say you have a normal neck but my chiro and pt both said i do not and i believe them |
Is that really it - only 4 four people on this board have ticked yes...?
Would have thought many more. |

Chiro wants to see me in his office 3 x a week at least. His bedside manner has gotten worse. Not sure if I will go back I have never been yelled at by a chiro because he can't fix me.... IT is what it is. I am halfway convinced that this is what causes alot of my muscle spasms in my neck. Andismom |

I would never go back to anybody that has yelled at me, especially a so called professional... They have some kind of attitude issue, and won't be in business very long if they act that way. |
@andismom There are many chiros out there to choose from. Feel free to switch. I agree with Jo*mar.
Also, you'll have to research it some more, but maybe the "Real-Ease Neck and Shoulder Relaxer" can help. It looks like it puts the curve back in the neck. |

Do you have any experience with the "Real-Ease Neck and Shoulder Relaxer" Chroma? I've seen simular products like; Posture Pump 1000 and Denneroll I don't know which one is better though.... |
Well I don't have cervical kyphosis. In fact, chiros like the look of my neck curve on the x-rays.
I do have chronic neck tension and dizziness though. I did get the Real-Ease just to try it and it had no effect on me either way. I didn't feel better or worse. But I don't think that experience is relevant to you since you have a different problem. The Denneroll looks interesting. So does the posture pump which at least has reviews on Amazon that you can check out: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_no...ture+Pump+1000 Seems like you'll need to try at least one of these. Also sounds like you're already doing your homework. Good luck! |

I've considered the posture pump, however its very expensive to import it to Denmark, Europe - so if anyone here has tried it, some feedback would be nice :) |
