Do these notes from my diary count?
January 24, 2007

Staying home with G. - age 9 - who is in turn staying home from school. Around 9:50 a.m. cramping set in while I was on the phone. Got off the line, but pain/cramping only grew in intensity, until I was quickly at or approaching a 9. Took a round of Baclofen, Oxycontin (20 mg) and oxycodone (5 mg.), but could barely make it downstairs to check up on G. 11:20 a.m. little or no improvement, no longer able to tolerate socks, pulled them off in about two seconds. Pain is just searing through me. 11:30 a.m. taking another 15 mg. of oxycodone along with 10 mg. of Marinol. 2:05 p.m. with pain peaking again, I repeat the dosing of Baclofen, Oxycontin and oxycodone. 10 minutes later I was sitting at mt computer when G. charges in with a scream and a wrestling move he wants to show off on my neck. (Thought I was about to die . . . )
The essence of the experience was pain that was not specific as to a given location, but filled me from the inside like rays from a lantern. Is this what they mean by Central Pain? If it is, then I have to admit that it ebbs and flows, and isn't with my all of the time: for which I am eternally grateful.

Hey

I always thought it was the same as RSD --> I'm also diagnosed with that by my "main" consultant (the one I vaguely get on with!! and who vaguelly understands me)..... (I thought it was the word they used to describe the really bad sudden flares you get with this - like when you move/ are moved/ jump/ have spasms etc etc etc).

Oh well - that is intersting though - I never looked at it before really cos I thought it was a new name for RSD... (they change it so often)..

Ah well.... whats abit more pain between friends - I loved on the website it said "when pain is between 9 or 10 constantly" erm - I already live with that...

But - whatever happens - life will continue to go on!!! (seriously - if you don't laugh at life then it falls apart... if it makes any of you feel better my spasms have been rubbish all day and I ended up kicking my best mate, Ben, VERY HARD in somewhere VERY painful!! - unfortunatly it was VERY painful for me as well - but the laughing endorphins did help (a mixture of sobbing and laughing!) )

Hi Mike,
Yes, I can really relate to the lantern feeling. I noticed yours was in the later morning. I get these type SX even more when I have over done it the day before. But mine is not all the time either. Hugs, Roz

Rosie,
What a riot (funny) you are, especially when you wrote what's a bit more pain among friends. I am still laughing. Love, Roz
