Off-topic- Avatar!

Is Avatar a good movie, or is Avatar a good movie?! Have you guys seen this? I saw it last night, and loved it. It was such a beautiful movie. It was chocolate cake for the eyes (I blame the prednisone for this food metaphor...lol) and soul...I loved the philosophy of the Natives, and their connection with nature...It was so inspiring...If you haven't seen it, you must!

P.S. At some points, I wished I had my own avatar...I guess I sorta do, with plex being my avatar metamorphasis machine from the MG...lol

Nicky, I have NOT seen it -- have heard it is SOOOOOO good that I have already decided that this is one that I WILL buy!! The cost of two tickets and popcorn will buy a dvd, so.............

There are some movies that I will watch OVER and OVER and OVER........like "The Fifth Element" -- "National Treasure" -- "Sister Act" -- I figured that this will be one of those.

I have ONLY heard WONDERFUL things about this movie -- I can hardly WAIT!!!

My husband and I saw it a couple of weeks ago and we loved it!!! The women/females were all strong, smart and independent...loved that. I was concerned about wearing the 3-D glasses for almost 3 hours, but they didn't bother my eyes at all. We have a movie complex about 6 miles from us that charges half the price of the complex at the mall!

Jana, you're going to miss a lot not seeing it in 3-D! Maybe you could go to a matinee, that's what we did.

Hugs,
Pat

Another great movie out on DVD is 'Moon'. I thought it was excellent. If you liked '2001: A Space Odyssey', you'll love 'Moon'. Not for kids though.

Yeah, Pat, I've thought about that -- but, the nearest theater that does 3-D is about 45 minutes away -- so, we'd be talking 4 1/2 hours minimum away from home (my refuge/safe-haven) -- and movie theater air isn't always the best for me.......................still, I'll probably regret not seeing it on the big screen.

On the other hand, I watch "Shark-boy and Lava-girl" on our TV with my nephew and we use the 3-D glasses -- and it isn't TOO bad.

(((HUGS)))

I'm a major sci-fi/fantasy fan...I love Lord of the rings, Labirynth, The neverending story, Legend, Matrix...

Another great movie is UP....Oh my god, we were all balling when we watched that...Very sentimental...It's animated, but it's for adults too...Very touching...:)

I'm into Sci-Fi, too -- and I absolutely ADORED, Up!!

Pat 110 02-06-2010 07:10 PM

Sorry Jana, I didn't know. But if you can still see it in 3-D at home, that's great!

I saw 'Up' and I cried like a baby right from the start. Great movie!

I like Si-Fi too, that's why I loved 'Moon'. I highly recommend it. It's more heavy duty than the movies you mentioned Nicky, but we really enjoyed it and it received rave reviews. Let me know if you rent it.

Pat,

I just read about 'Moon' on Wikipedia...Sounds really cool...I will definately watch it...

Have you seen District 9? That one was pretty good too...

Another awesome movie, not really sci-fi but kinda fantasy, with lots of action and good special effects, is Kung Fu Hustle...

Not a movie, but I am addicted to 'Lost.' That show is fantabulous! lol
