cymbalta use for PN

Cymbalta in 2 x 60 mg/day. This experiment was carried out on suggestion of my general care doctor. Results seem to indicate that I am walking "normally". However this is probably not going to be covered as it is "off the books".

Anyone have any information on this. I always thought that 1 x 60 cymbalta was the max. useful dose. The question I am really asking is this possibly worth the fight and aggrevation to try to get this treatment?

I was JD3 in the old forum. Gee it feels good to be back:D

Hi~

First of all--welcome "home"!

I also was on Cymbalta 60mg 2 x's/day. That was about a year and a half ago. It helped for a very short time, then either it quit working, or my Neuropathy got worse, and we had to try different meds.

Actually I had heard on BT1's Peripherial Neuropathy forum that that dose was possible and brought it to my Mayo Neuro's attention. After doing some checking she found that yes, indeed that it was possible. The information collected from the clinical trials stated that there was no difference between 60mg/day and 120mg/day however.

My opinion on your question is, hey, if it improves your health in any way, I'd say it's worth the "fight and arrgravation".

My insurance covered Cymbalta prescribed at 120mg/day, so it might be individual companies.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Hugs,
Jan :)

Cymbalta

Last month at my check-up my pain doc asked me if I wanted to try it and I have so many new meds going, I said not until I'm past the intro period on those. She is suggesting it from a pain control standpoint.

Hang in there,
