There's a risk of hemmorhage from the arterial puncture site after an angiogram so he will need to lie for about 4 hours after the procedure. He will then be able to sit up but I doubt he'll be permitted to get out of bed/walk until the next day. If you think you might have trouble getting him to lie still if he goes home afterwards, he may be better staying in hospital until the doctor is happy for him to be on his feet again. It's just a safety precaution but an important one.

I hope it all goes smoothly for him.

Thank you for the update. I hope he gets some sleep with that monitor. I've had to wear one on 3 different occassions now and it's really hard to ignore so you can get to sleep, and once you do doze off, it wakes you up again.

Let us know how he gets on.
