numbing an burning sensation after c4-c7 removal

My friend had c4-c7 removed August 14, 2008. Since his surgery he has gotten progressively worse, the bones were removed and since then he has lost his ability to walk and has severe skin burns where his clothing touches his legs. About a month ago he started losing the feelings in his hands and has almost no ability to grasp anything. He says that is skin feels cool to your touch but it actually is burning him to where it leaves marks that look like buns. when he uses his hands and arms there is burning pains in his shoulder and go down his back. No one seems to be able to tell him what is going on and we believe that something went wrong with the surgery and that he should sue the hospital and Doctors that performed the procedure, if anyone has had this type of condition please reply

Doesn't sound good. Has anyome examined him for RSD (reflex sympathetic dystrophy)?

I was thinking RSD too, also called Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (Complex Regional Pain Syndromes Type I) and Causalgia (Complex Regional Pain Syndromes Type II)(RSD and CRPS)

so if they removed the bones? the actual vertebra??
I'm assuming they put something in those places, a graft or such?
Or hardware??
