Winter check in thread

Hey everyone,

Tam mentioned that we haven't had a check in thread lately.
We have been missing some of our long term buddies too.

So please drop a short note and say a hello, and maybe how you are doing.

We love to hear from everyone.

I'm feeling the winter cold for sure - we have 5" of snow on the ground here and had a cold spell into the 20's/30's the last 2 weeks but supposed to warm up into the 40s soon.

Hope to hear from many of you - take care

Why can't I be cold with snow like the rest of you!! I love winter and snow and we have none of it! Also, we are in the heating business and I want everyones heaters to brake!! I know that sounds bad but it helps me pay my taxes and pay for everything else in this great state of NJ! Just love our new Governor!

I'm still here. Alive and kicking. My son's getting better, and we are going to Disney World soon!! What else can you ask for. Hope everyone is OK Linda

Hi Guys,

I am here too! It's so hot here. Air conditioner on. I have only seen snow once when I visited the snowy mountains in NSW, Australia. I was about 11 years old! It doesnt get too cold where I live about 0 to 16 in winter (june, july & august) 18 to 42 summer (december, jan, feb) 10 to 25 autumn (march, april & may) same for spring (sep, oct, nov). We have had a lot of rain in the past month which is great because we have been in drought for years. Today is about 32. Im talking celcius here.

Health wise im o.k. Same meds different day! Hope everyone is well.

Im off for a swim in my pool.

from bad to worse

Hi friends,

I started January 1st off with a 10 - the TOS migraine. 2 days later I sneezed and threw my back out! It got a bit better over 3 days, then the back got much worse - the sciatic nerve waking me up after 1 hr of sleep. Severe 10 pain that's like a charleyhorse, my leg and hip in bad spasm. This has gone on for nearly 3 weeks now and just last night I was able to lie on my back till 5:30am, so I guess it's on the mend. Had an x-ray done yesterday with a chiro. who wants to learn about TOS! I warned him "no manipulations", and he agrees. Plus, he's doing the evaluation on my back injury for free! Just for the exposure to TOS info. Cool huh?

But then yesterday I caught a cold that my Mom has had for a week. :(

My Psych Therapist retired Jan. 1, so no group or counseling until she decides to return part-time in Feb. so I'm working hard on keeping my spirits up.

The weather here in the southeastern US is wild - 60's one day 20's the next. Even had 2 days of light snow! It's playing havoc with my bones! I have been in bed almost full time since Jan 1.

Thank God for you guys - I know you understand.

Frequent Flyers Club

hi ya'll....60's and sunny here in SoCal.

i am OK, just busy... Racking up miles in the Dr Ahn frequent flyers club. Going to have another surgery Feb 18, been busy having blocks and tests to decide whether or not to do it. Just got the date/time confirmed today.

right side block was a roaring success....seems as though one of my scalenes has already reattached and it is causing extra symptoms in my right arm. left side block was negative, but Dr Ahn says negative blocks are only right half of the time, where as positives are right 90% of the time...So if the second surgery really helps the right side. we'll probably opt to do the left shortly after.

on another interesting note, Dr Ahn told me tuesday that he has started doing Pec minor tenotomies as a third option when the rib resection plus extra complete scalenectomy still leave you with too many symptoms. interesting, very interesting. :Ponder: He was NOT saying that last may when i had my first surgery.

ah, but i digresss, in any case i hope you all are doing well, adn hopefully i'll be able to check in again soon....
Johanna
