hi..we've baffled our doctors

Hello, I'm here because of my DH.He is 36 and verry ill. The only thing the docs can tell us is its neuro its progressive and its deteriating.Heres our story...
In Sept. of 06 my dh was driving our family home on the freeway when he lost concesness. I was able to grab the wheel and no one was hurt. He spent the next 7 days in the hospital getting tests..ct, eeg, mri,and blood.
since then he has added mood swings, dizzyness, headaches, synacopy, siezures, nosebleeds, a tremor in his left arm and hand, a jurking tick in his neck/head, memory loss, hulucinations, parinoid delusions, and of course depression.
He has had mri, ct (both with and without contrast),eeg, angiogram, numuros blood test, seen a neuroligyst ,cardioligyst, neuro-phyciatryst and his GP.
all test within normal.Hes being reffered for a pet next, I guess we'll see.
As I said we've baffled the docs, any and all idea's welcome.
Sorry so long, Jina

welcome dear jina~

dear Jina,
Welcome to Neurotalk,
as far as your husband's health is concernedit is very complicated,
was loosing conscienceness his first symptom -
you need to take 10 steps backs and look at this as though you were not
involved, and see if you can recall your husband ever having nose bleeds before this -does he take high blood pressure medications,
has he been around any toxic gas fumes, do he have hypoglycemia,
did he eat what he normally eats - did something press the strssed out button for him on that day alone, or was it their in small areas -
yet you are to close to the forest to see the trees?
you must remember as much as possible, the mystery from his illness,
will be helped if you can reveal more information to the doctors?
peace to you both,
sincerely
tena

Welcome to NeuroTalk. You might also want to post your message on the General Health Conditions & Rare Disorders forum.

Has your husband started taking any new drugs since this combination of symptoms has turned up??

I just entered a lot of the symptoms in Google to see what would turn up. A lot of them show up as a SEVERE reaction to Neurontin (http://www.drugs.com/sfx/neurontin-side-effects.html). That's why I was questioning what drugs he's been taking. Quite a few others drugs have similiar, severe side effects.

Have they done a Magnetic Resonance Angiogram (MRA) of his head to take a look at the blood vessels??

Has he served in any of the Gulf Wars??

Just questioning based on a quick Google search.

I hope you find out what's making him so sick. And I pray that it's not serious.

Bless you both.

Barb

(((((((((((((Jina))))))))))))))))) and (((((((((((((((Jina's DH)))))))))))))))). :(

Please get your hubby's films looked at by a neuroSURGEON. Neurologists are utterly clueless about differences in brain structure and how they impact our health. If anyone has said, "Yeah...there's a tiny cerebellar tonsil herniation there...but it means nothing," keep looking. You're going to the wrong specialist! Any irregularity in brain structure or a miniscule foreign growth (cyst, tumor) can bring on such symptoms. Please take him to a neurosurgeon, and if such an irregularity is noted, do not be blown off by a comment that it has nothing to do with his symptoms, because chances are, it does. Not all nsgs know about things like Chiari (cerebellar tonsil herniation), so if it's noted, let me know, and I'll direct you to sites where you can get referrals to a qualified nsg.

:hug::hug::hug:

Good luck...

LIZARD :)
