Ulifting, Encouragement Thread...

each day about something.... good happening to us , that made us smile or laugh, an uplifting picture or cartoon. To give each of us a lift and a smile or good thought for the day.
As you all know, I tend to whine alot, I'm seeing the need to practice smiling more and think uplifting thoughts. Maybe you would like to join me.
Weight loss needs some encouragement and positive thinking.
Care to join me? Gaye :grouphug:

It's warm and cozy in my house and raining outside. I love the rain. Gaye:)

 i'm right there with you gaye! let's keep this going and keep those positve thoughts. no matter what..let's turn those lemon's into sugar free lemonade. :D

boy howdy on the smiling. my daughters and i were baking up a storm right before christmas. a 5 hour marathon. one snapped a candid picture of me. frown city. ugh. pure ugly. the marvels of digital camera's./...you get to see the pic then delete. so she took another with a dazzeling smile. learned my lesson. smile smile. i swear it makes your face look thinner too.

i am enjoying a nice hot cup of tea. just a bit of lemon. i feel so good about it. i noticed my coffee creamer has 1g of fat in every teaspoon. and i'm sure i use 2 or 3 tablespoons. i just saved 6 g of fat! so instead of missing my cup o joe...i'm doing the happy dance.

I just got off the phone with Bizi and that always makes me smile. She is still planning on coming home tomorrow...weather permitting. It's snowing right now but the weatherman is talking rain for tomorrow. She said it's rainning in Indy...I said "are you talking to me while driving?" :o

She made me a portrait bracelet for Christmas...all my kids + me and Mr.Alffe.
I love it!

my husband cooked breakfast for us this morning, just eggs over easy and toast but he gave the perfect eggs to me and he had the not so perfect ones LOL.
isn't that sweet.

He usually "fries" them LOL
with the pan too hot.
But these were perfectly done:D

I see our smilies have changed places on us LOL

I could look at today in a negative way because my husband wasn't feeling well.
However, as it turns out, he has the week off from work.
This means that he did not have to miss work and get in trouble.
It is also an opportunity for me to take care of him, nourish him back to health and spend time with him.
And in fact...we DID have fun enjoying being together all week, including today. Today, after the doctor, we stopped by a health food store and picked up some delcious food items to have for lunch together.

By the way, I LOVE this time of year.
A time to reflect on things we might do differently from the past and new goals to set for the future.
With reference to weight loss...January is a good time to start a new program like Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, YOU on a Diet, etc.
A good time to join a gym, start a walking program with a friend or your spouse...
Make it great in 2008!
:)

Well, if you like SNOW, it's a Winter Wonderland out there. So far today, we have gotten 7 inches and it's still coming down. Is that a joy???

Oh and Monkey??? I don't like lemonade. so can we take those lemons and make lemon meringue pie instead??? :)

Hoping the New Year is good to each and every one of you.

Peace..............

We Look Forward To A New Year

As we look toward a brand new year
Then gaze back to the past
We pause with mixed emotions
And memories that still last.

For this year has taught us lessons
We never thought we’d learn
To stand in the face of adversity
Seeking peace for which we yearn.
Each life a precious memory
Each face burned in our souls
The hero, the innocent, those who were lost
Were halves who made someone whole.

So we pray for this year to be peaceful
For strength to see us through
For each one who lost someone precious
And for all that is holy and true.

As we pray God’s eternal blessings
For our leaders and our land
We walk toward the future together
Heart to heart and hand in hand.

dm...you reminded me of an awesome way to really cut calories and fat.

instead of pie in a crust, serve it like a parfee'. (sp) serve it in a pretty wine glass.

get out the nice stuff. make your setting pretty. even if it's just for yourself. carrot sticks and celery look more appitizing on a pretty little china plate...than a paper plate. :D
