Too little info on post concussion syndrome!
 

Why do not hospital give patients with mild head injury some info on post concussion syndrome?

I had a head injury and had a CT scan done at the hospital. Everything looked normal so I was released with info on some dangerous signs to look for, and told to follow up with my doctor in two weeks.

The next day I felt awful, I did not know what was happening. By the third day I searched the net for answers.

I had headaches for seven weeks. I am still recovering.
I really feel for those with more serious injury.

It doesn't seem to make any difference which country you live in as regards to info on post concussion syndrome.

I too used the internet to find out what was happening with me - especially after I returned to Emergency with my horrible headaches and fogginess and was told there was nothing wrong with me and that they knew all about people like me as the doctor had worked for an insurance company!

I even ended up explaining to the psychologist that I was sent to that TBI was cumulative!

I was in a car accident a year ago tomorrow. I'm still getting headaches and when I get tired some of the initial cognitive problems return (i.e. mixing up words in sentences). Still, even right after my accident the doctor told me to go back to work (I write reports and the mixing up words thing didn't work too well with that). I almost wished I had more noticeable physical damage so that they would take me seriously. Again, same as you, the CAT scan came back fine. Anyone have any idea how long this will last or if I can count on it being permanent?

The worst part is not knowing how long it will last. My only advise is take it one day at the time. Getting stressed over it will only make the headache worse.
Before, I could not walk down the street without feeling very tired, now I can walk a lot further than I used to...

My family thought there was nothing wrong with me, and I was just being lazy!
