Acetyl l-carnitine
 

This natural suppliment may be worth a try, my wife bought me a bottle,,its supposed to be good for regenerating nerve damage.
On a different note,, i wish the dr,s could find a way to reboot our nervous system like a computer. I know they are getting away from nerve surgery,,my neuros are frowning on doing one on my heel where there is scar tissue around the calcaneal nerve,,[source of the problem] They say it useally makes it worse,,and as for the blocks,,,a few hours after them my leg pain was worse and red as a fireengine,,took weeks to calm down,,im only 6 months into,rsd, but ive got to continue to try to master this thing,,who knows,,maybe it could tale something simple that is being overlooked to cure this thing,,,,,,bobber,,,,,,,,,,my heart does go out to all of you

I agree with your doctors about the surgery. I have had 2 supposingly 'minor' procedures and both of them made me a lot worse so I have been told to stay away from surgery now unless I absolutely have to have it (eg, for life saving treatments etc). Do a lot of research into the surgery before you decide to go ahead with it. It sounds like your doctors know about RSD and aren't forcing the issue unless you want to have it done thankfully!

Thanks for the information. We can use all the help we can get. I'll get some and try. A vitamin that builds your immune system is called CoQuel 10 I buy it at Costco in liquid form. Liquid Form absorbs faster in your system. Thanks again, loretta

Acetyl carnitine and CoQ-10 work on the mitochondria in each cell. New research has suggested that damaged mitochrondria are the cause of many chronic afflictions today.

Both supplements are rather benign side effect-wise. But they are rather costly. CoQ-10 may not be absorbed well, unless you use one that advertises enhanced absorption on the label. This raises the price too.

Both are used in PN therapies (peripheral neuropathy) where drugs or toxins have damaged the mitochondria.
Acetyl carnitine has also shown promise in protecting normal cells from Chemo drug treatments. PN often is a painful side effect of Chemo.

I've often read the term "reboot the nervous system" used when describing ketamine coma treatments and or 4-10 day out patient-in patient ketamine infusions. The results are spotty and often temporary, but for some a success, especially done early in their diagnoses.
