fistula help

Hi Bryanna..

I am totally new to all this and not sure I am even posting this in the right way. Please advise me if I am going about this post in the wrong way. No offense meant.

I would really appreciate your advice. I appear to have what seems to be a fistula on my root ccanal and capped tooth. The history: I had this tooth (#32) root canalled and capped in November 2012. I started experiencing pain and sensitivity in the tooth about Christmas I went on antibiotics in January and ignored the situation. The fistula has now returned and is bigger. I am on antibiotics and will see my dentist tomorrow. He did advise that we needed to drill through the cap and tooth and clean the bacteria out. However after reading your posts I can see that this option is futile. It sounds like an extraction is necessary. I am just concerned how it can be done with my tooth in this condition. .ie will the anaesthetic work if there is infection in the tooth. Please advise what I can or should do. Thanx for your time.

Cheers

Malawi
