Kinesio Taping

Anyone have any experience with Kinesio Taping - apparently affects the activation of the neurogical system - involves taping over and around muscles in order to assist and give support or to prevent over-contraction - have it on my knees to reduce fluids caused by - you guessed it - a fall on concrete -

I've never even heard of it. Who does this for you, PT, surgeon, PCP, neuro?

So sorry for your fall, KM And on concrete, ugh!

I'll bet that guy who taped you gets lots of blank looks when friends or family asks him what he does for a living.

Hope your swelling goes down soon.

Yup!

I used to have to do kinesio-taping on my knee too!

In my case, I had injured the knee when someone fell on it in a class V rapid. One muscle was contracting and pulling my whole kneecap out of line when I walked, and my leg would kick out from underneath me whenever I tried to walk!

I did the taping, biofeedback, and specific exercises to retrain the muscles around the knee. I avoided surgery and I walk normally now ( most of the time!)
