Compressed nerves from tightening up under stress

I had a thought about my situation.

I have stored much of my stress in my body by tightening up -- like fright, flight, freeze. Highly sympathetic nervous system vs parasympathetic.

Is is possible my nerves are compressed and irritated - particularly in my outer calves?

I am releasing lots of old trauma and pain and am loosening up my body.

Not sure if the stress can physically cause the nerves to be compressed and irritated. But I know for sure that letting go of that stress and relaxing the muscles is always a good thing.

When I'm having a bad time, I put on the headphones for about a half hour with "sounds of nature" playing (rain, ocean waves, waterfalls, birds, etc.). I go into a kind of meditation, picturing the muscles relaxing and the nerves healing themselves. I doubt that any nerve healing is actually taking place, but when I'm done I do feel quite relaxed - almost like after a good massage.

Magnesium will reduce muscle tension quickly... you can do epsom salts in the bath, or the Morton's lotion (a quarter's dollop daily).

This is a pretty good article I found last night while on my phone....it explains the clinical presentations of low magnesium clearly. This is often hard to find on internet sites.

If you are already doing oral, there may be reasons why it is not getting to your targets. Altered circulation will block magnesium in some tissues.
